Hi, my name is Michael, and welcome to my Tech Made Easy blog! I plan to write and post guides for performing common technology related tasks, and to explain various technology concepts. Wait! Don’t stop reading! Yes, I’m aware that tech blogs are a dime a dozen on the internet, but this blog is going to be a bit different. This blog is going to focus on explaining things for people with virtually no tech savvy. Whether it be your Luddite neighbor, or your grandmother who can’t even reset the clock on her VCR (yes, I am old enough to remember VCR’s), this blog will strive to make common technology tasks easy to understand for all audiences. Another key difference is that, in addition to providing step-by-step instructions in each guide, I will also try to explain the underlying concepts as well. I am firm believer that simply walking through a series of steps blindly is no substitute for actually learning and understanding the concepts behind them.
But this page is called “A Bit About Myself”, so I figure I should probably tell you some more about who I am. After all, if you’re going to trust my advice, you have a right to know a bit about my qualifications. As I said earlier, my name is Michael. I am a software developer with experience in several programming languages (Java, JavaScript, C++, to name a few). I have a Master of Science in Information Systems degree from UMBC, and a Bachelor’s degree from ODU. My profile on GitHub.com is “compumike08”, and my profile on Keybase is “compumike”.
I’m not sure exactly how often I’ll be able to post new guides, but I’m hoping for at least once a month. Check back here often to see what new guides have been added. I’m looking forward to helping people make sense of the very exciting, but often very confusing, world that is modern technology!
